Description: This webinar will cover the basic biology and life cycle of spotted lanternfly, identification and reporting as we track this invasive insect in Ohio, and current management options for dealing with spotted lanternfly in the urban environment.
Presenter: Lizzie Sords is a certified arborist and urban forest professional in Cleveland, OH. She holds a degree in Environmental Science from Allegheny College and works at Davey Resource Group as a project manager. Lizzie was born and raised in Cleveland, was introduced to forestry at school in Pennsylvania, and started her career in Portland, Oregon, where she worked for Portland Parks and Recreation doing tree inventory and Friends of Trees leading neighborhood tree plantings. In 2019, she returned to Ohio and now works primarily with clients in the Great Lakes region, managing tree inventories, conducting advanced risk assessments, helping community organizations apply for grant funding for urban forestry projects, and more
