Join me for 45 minutes and I will show you the latest goings-on with i-Tree. This will be a quick overview of what’s what and where we are going next with it all. Over the past two years, we’ve updated our website, built a new user interface for i-Tree Canopy – our DIY canopy assessment tool, and added ease-of-use updates to i-Tree Planting so you can forecast tree benefits for your tree planting projects. Learn about using MyTree and the new MyTreeMap as a free, community-accessible tree planting tracking tool – with tree benefits as well. We’ll do a quick run through of our newest community canopy tool, OurTrees as well. www.itreetools.org

Bio:
Mike manages the Technology Development and Corporate Mapping groups at the Davey Institute within the Davey Tree Expert Company in Kent, Ohio. In addition, he oversees i-Tree’s global software development for the i-Tree Cooperative partnership with the USDA Forest Service. Key elements of his role include fostering development of software tools plus GIS and remote sensing analyses while focusing on ease of use, efficiency, and productivity. Mike has over 30 years of experience when it comes to collaborating with stakeholders and software developers. He has been with Davey for over 25 years, served as Adjunct Professor at Kent State University, and has worked as an independent consultant since 1995. Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in natural resource conservation and a master’s degree in geography, specializing in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing.
