Description: This presentation will discuss the different tick species and tick-borne diseases in Ohio, data from recent surveillance activities, and ways to protect yourself against tick bites.

Bio: Leeanne Garrett is a Public Health Entomologist at the Ohio Department of Health. She has been working in vector surveillance since 2015 and is currently the coordinator for mosquito and tick surveillance programs throughout Ohio. Leeanne earned her master’s degree in Veterinary Public Health in 2019 and she serves as the board secretary for the Ohio Mosquito and Vector Control Association.
