Learn more about Tawa Tree & Lawn Care
Tawa Tree Services was founded in 1987 by Chris Roof and Brad Brooks, who both studied tree care and arboriculture at Hocking Technical College. What began with a tree service truck and chipper has grown into an established Northwest Ohio company serving communities throughout the wider Northwest Ohio region.
Today, Tawa focuses on Tree Service, Plant Health Care, and Lawn Care, with a particular commitment to professional tree care and the health of the landscapes we serve. The company employs highly skilled and knowledgeable professionals and strives to exceed customer expectations.
Tawa serves a large portion of Northwest Ohio, including Ottawa, Findlay, Bowling Green, Perrysburg, Toledo, Lima, Bluffton, Van Wert, Defiance, Fostoria, and surrounding communities.
We are seeking experienced tree care professionals who are interested in performing a wide range of professional arboricultural work.
The position may include:
Tawa's approach to tree care emphasizes proper pruning techniques and tree preservation, rather than simply removing or cutting trees. The team performs both routine and complex tree work, including hazardous and difficult removals.
Tawa maintains a professional, well maintained equipment fleet designed to safely and efficiently handle a wide range of tree care projects.
Our equipment includes multiple aerial lift trucks, specialized removal equipment, rigging equipment, and crane capabilities.
This is an opportunity to work alongside professionals with decades of experience in arboriculture.
Tawa's owners have formal education and training in tree care and arboriculture. Brad is an ISA Certified Arborist and has been certified for more than two decades, while Chris Roof holds a degree in Timber Harvesting and certification in TreeCare Arboriculture from Hocking Technical College.
We are willing to train the right candidate in Tawa's pruning standards, equipment, techniques, and approach to professional tree care.
For the right person, this position can be much more than a job on a tree crew, it can be the beginning of a career in arboriculture.
We are interested in individuals who want to learn and grow. As your skills and knowledge develop, you may have opportunities to gain experience in:
Tawa's work extends beyond cutting and removing trees. Its Plant Health Care program includes soil conditioning, fertilization, root enhancement, mulching, pest management, and specialized air-knife work to address soil compaction around tree roots.
A pathway to obtain your arborist certification is available and will be supported for the correct candidate. Additionally, there is potential for leadership roles within the company. For someone who wants to develop into a knowledgeable, well-rounded arborist, this provides exposure to many different areas of the profession.
Our goal is to help the right person build a career—not simply fill a position.
The ideal candidate will be:
Previous tree care experience is valuable, but we are willing to train the right person who demonstrates the work ethic, attitude, and desire to learn.
Established. Nearly four decades of professional tree care experience.
Professional. Tawa is committed to a high level of professional tree care and follows established arboricultural practices, including ISA tree-planting guidelines.
Well Equipped. Work with aerial lifts, rigging systems, crane operations, specialized ground equipment, and other professional tree care equipment.
More Than Tree Removal. Gain exposure to pruning, preservation, Plant Health Care, root enhancement, planting, cabling and bracing, and other aspects of arboriculture.
Career Focused. The right candidate can develop skills and experience with the potential to progress toward a professional arborist career.
Close-Knit Team. Work with experienced professionals in an established company with decades of experience and longevity along with a consistency.
If you're looking for a place where you can work hard, learn skilled trade, operate professional equipment, and build a long-term career in arboriculture and tree health, we'd like to hear from you.
