Christine Balk is a technical advisor, specializing in plant pathology, with the Davey Institute. She has a B.S. in Biology from St. Lawrence University and a M.Sc. in Plant Pathology from The Ohio State University. Throughout her years of schooling, Christine has been involved in various types of research. From analyzing plant DNA, to plant identification, fungicide trials, native plant seed collection, and identifying plant pathogens, Christine has had an array of training. Christine’s employment with Davey includes outreach, technical support to field operations, teaching, professional presentations, diagnostics and research responsibilities.
Jim Chatfield Associate Professor and Extension Specialist, he provides extensive green industry extension workshops throughout the United States. Topic include but not limited to plant problem, diagnostics, plant materials, plant selection, and plant pathology, etc.
Bob Meoak has been a certified arborist since 1995 and a Board Certified Master Arborist since 2014. He is Tree Risk Assessment Qualified (TRAQ) and an ASCA member. Bob recently attended ASCA’s Consulting Academy. He is a past recipient of the President’s award from the Tennessee Urban Forestry Council for “Outstanding Contributions to Urban Forestry” in that state. Bob works for Tree Care, Inc in Dayton, OH.
In 1997, Joel Spies began working for Rainbow Treecare Scientific Advancements as a freelance consultant; he joined Rainbow full time four years later. Since then, Joel has been a driving force in marketing, sales and business development. Tree health care education has been a key focus with over 18 years working with tree care companies in Texas and across the upper midwest helping them manage oak wilt.
